Not all the best Merlots come from Washington. This California Merlot is a great deal. You save over six dollars off the regular price. Red fruit, smooth, silky and polished.

Vaza Cosecha ranks as the best value wine we have found so far this year. Bright ruby red, strawberry and cranberry fruit, light but sturdy and just plain delicious. Burgers, chicken or ribs? Better get two bottles.

Boroli Langhe Rosso Anna Italy

Some wines just seem to hit all the right spots like this versatile red from Boroli. A great wine for summer outdoor grilling it has loads of black fruit, but not heavy or tannic, classic Italian Earthy character, good acidity, a very easy style and a lot of wine for the money. Truly a wine you can enjoy every day.

Waterbrook Mélange Blanc, Washington

Waterbrook’s Mélange (red) has been a favorite value blend for a long time and this new Mélange Blanc (white) is sure to become just as popular. The wine is a blend of Riesling 40% for fruit, Gewurztraminer 20% for spice, Viognier 10% for aroma 10% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Gris and 10% Sauvignon Blanc that make up the solid core. Dry, fruity and clean, a great summer sipper.

Yalumba Y Series Viognier, Australia

Yalumba’s Y Series wines emphases fruit, varietal character and value. The Y Series Viognier is a great example of the unique character of Viognier. Forward stone fruit aromas, brisk lively textures and food friendly. Haven’t tried a Viognier yet? This is a good one and a very good price.
